There’s this little bar near my apartment.  It’s kind of unspecial and has the rattiest collection of chairs, and they serve red wine freezing cold.  On any given weeknight, there’s maybe two or three tables filled, and one of them is holding the owner’s friends.
The bar is called 꽃땅 (flower land), and I kind of love the place.
First of all, it’s in the most random location inside a residential neighborhood and a 10 minute walk from my front door.  Second, they have this little other storage room to the side where they throw concerts once or twice a month.
The guy wearing the hat in the photo is pretty famous, I heard.  His name is 백현진, and the only reason I thought to go to his show was because I found out he composed the music for one of my favorite Korean films of 2011, 북촌방향 (The Day He Arrives).
Boy of boy was he high during this performance.
I was with fun people so I didn’t begrudge him his high.

About

Blogging from my little corner of Seoul, Korea, where I'll be until next fall as a Fulbrighter. My stated research project concerns the experiences of young North Korean defectors in South Korea, but my personal goal is to eat my way through every type of street food. Also, I'd like to personally meet a couple that match-dresses. Say hi! ---Lilian lilee27 -- gmail
