This picture was taken almost exactly three years ago on July 14, 2007.  CD and I were in Marseilles, and after gorging on bouillabaisse, we drove around until we found a calanque, did some mild rock-climbing to find a good spot, and swam in the most wonderful blue inlet of water.  Well, CD swam while I scurried back up to our rock after realizing that my body could not handle the frigid temperature.  Plus, I had no bathing suit, though I was prepared to ruin it in the seawater if necessary.
I still wear this very outfit sometimes.  I had just gotten the hippy dippy girl t-shirt in Paris for 20 Euros a week before this photo was taken.  And the skirt was one of my favorite purchases the year before at Monica’s in Westwood.  It was a splurge, but I could not resist that green.
The sunglasses were also a splurge from the Chanel section at the Galeries Lafayette.  They were practically glued to my face that summer, but they are now lost.
But most importantly, can you see how blue the water is?  Or azure, should I say?

About

Blogging from my little corner of Seoul, Korea, where I'll be until next fall as a Fulbrighter. My stated research project concerns the experiences of young North Korean defectors in South Korea, but my personal goal is to eat my way through every type of street food. Also, I'd like to personally meet a couple that match-dresses. Say hi! ---Lilian lilee27 -- gmail
