Tomatoes
I love tomatoes. So when I saw a sizable bag of cherry tomatoes for only $2 in an old street market two days ago, I had to buy it. Of course! Only $2! Bargain of the week.

That night, as luck would have it, a friend dropped by during dinner time, and I had nothing to serve, no ingredients except onions, garlic, and a few wilting leaves left on my dying basil plant. What to serve?
Then I remembered, whew, I had these wonderful tomatoes and some linguine left from my last pasta fest. Disaster spared:
